8 Amazing Backlinks Strategies 2021- Link Building

How does Google determine which website to rank number one, two, and three?

It comes down to SEO, right? Well, it’s more in-depth than that.

Google has over 200 factors; and the number one factor that affects rankings is Backlinks.

What are Backlinks in SEO?

Backlinks, that’s one website linking to another website. Google’s looking at it as votes. The more links that your website has, the higher you’re gonna rank.

How do Backlinks Work?

In addition to that, they’re looking at quality. So, if Business Insider links to you, that’s way more effective than if Bob the builder linked to you.

And Google knows that it’s way harder to get a link from Business Insider than it is to get a link from Bob the builder.

Google is looking at how many backlinks you’re getting, how many you’re getting overtime because it has to be natural. They don’t want you to just go pay people to link to your website because they don’t like that.

You shouldn’t pay for links, they’re looking at how related those websites are, and they’re looking at something called Domain Authority.

So, assume you’re getting tons of backlinks, you’re getting them from related websites and they have high domain authority.
Domain authority is from a scale of 0 to 100, 100 being like Google.com, Youtube, Facebook.

What’s the Difference Between DoFollow and NoFollow Links?

There are two types of links Dofollow and Nofollow:

A Dofollow is telling search engines hey I’m linking to the site because I want to pass link juice and have the site rank higher.

The Nofollow link is hey I’m linking to this site I don’t want you guys to help the site rank higher and that’s usually because they paid you or it’s an affiliate link or there’s something that’s maybe like sketchy about the site. Nofollow it’s mainly used for advertising.

If someone’s paying you or you’re making money by linking out somewhere like an affiliate link or advertisement you want to use a NoFollow.

When you decide who you want to link to because it’s reputable you’re citing a source in those cases. Even if you’re linking to a competitor because you know you’re saying hey my competition wrote this amazing article that was really cool you want to make those links DoFollow.

And just because the site has more DoFollow links it doesn’t mean they’re gonna rank higher or just because a site has tons of NoFollow links it doesn’t mean they’re gonna rank lower.

8 ways to get Backlinks in 2020:

There’s a lot of other factors that determine the site’s rankings but of course, the more DoFollow links a website has its opposed to in theory help with rankings.

Today you’re going to learn exactly how to build quality backlinks to your site. I’m gonna show you 8 proven link building strategies 2020 and some advanced techniques.

1. Link Roundups:

Imagine, if people publish blog posts for the sole purpose of linking out to quality content the type of quality content that you already publish on your site that would be awesome right. Fortunately, for us, that’s a real thing and they’re called Link Roundups.

Exactly link roundups are daily, weekly, or monthly blog posts that curate and link to outstanding content.

2. Broken Link Building:

Broken link building is one of my all-time favorite link building strategies. When most people build links, they send generic pitches that offer zero value, can I have a link please, thank you, send but with broken link building you can add value to someone’s website.

Then ask for a link. Here’s this step-by-step process, first add “Check My Links” to Google Chrome. It is a free Google Chrome extension that finds broken links on any page.

Finally, let the site owner know about their broken link and offer your content as a replacement.

3. Help Reporters and Bloggers:

If you want to rank on the first page of Google, you need to build links from authority blogs and news sites in your industry.

Fortunately, this isn’t as hard as it probably sounds in fact it’s very big thanks to a free service called “Help A Reporter Out” (HARO). It connects bloggers and journalists that need sources to people that want links and press mentions and at least 50% of Bloggers used “HARO” to build links.

There are various high authority sites like HealthLine and to be clear this strategy takes work and it’s not always easy but it’s one of the best ways to build quality backlinks at scale.

4. InfoGraphic Marketing:

Find InfoGraphic that covers the same topic as yours. Then look for the sites that use them, and make a list of them. There are two ways to do this:

  • Reverse Image search via Google Image search (upload or enter the URL of the Image/InfoGraphic).
  • Reverse engineer the landing page/original source of the InfoGraphic using link monitoring tools like AhRefs or UberSuggest.

You can also search for text-heavy content related to your InfoGraphic’s topic.

5. Link Reclamation:

Link reclamation is the process of finding Unlinked mentions of your brand assets or broken links pointing to your site coming from other websites and then contacting them to request for proper link attribution to your website.

  • 1. Google Search:
    “brand name” –link:yoursite.com –site:yoursite.com

6. Link through Outdated Content:

Use Google Search to find old and outdated content on topic areas you want to focus on. Set the time (on Tools) to “custom range” to filter the results to only show posts from years ago.
And then, pitch your outreach email to the site where the outdated content is linked.

7. Invite Guest Bloggers:

Find active guest bloggers in your space and invite them to write for your site too.  It’s one of the best ways to absorb followers from influencers.

And aside from getting them to share their content published on your website on their social networks, they almost always link out to their own past works including their guest posts.

8. .Edu Link Building:

Using Google Search:

  •  “keyword/topic” + resources + inurl:.edu/.ac.uk/.edu.au
  •  “keyword/topic” + useful links + inurl.edu/.ac.uk/.edu.au

Bonus: A lot of these academic resources pages usually contain broken links, given that many of them have aged and aren’t updated that much (so the broken link building approach would work well on this aspect).
